Fine
Arts
|
|
The fine arts are
creative expressions using sound, image, and movement as a means to satisfy
the human need to create and communicate thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
The fine arts are essential to a well-balanced school curriculum. They
include visual arts, music, drama and dance.
The primary
purpose of the fine arts in the Blaine
School District is to
ensure that students will experience creative processes, recognize
aesthetic qualities, effectively communicate knowledge of the arts, and
become lifelong learners with the ability to make informed and creative
decisions within a culturally diverse environment.
The fine arts
provide avenues for self-discovery, balancing academic pursuits with
creative and intuitive thinking and production of creative works of art.

Technology
|
|
The primary goal
of technology use in the Blaine School
District is to increase student achievement in all content
areas. The integration of technology into classroom teaching will provide
learning experiences that are highly interactive and subject appropriate.
Students and staff
will have access to appropriate technology resources to research, analyze,
problem solve, and synthesize. Blaine
School District will provide
students with opportunities to use technology applications for pursuing
knowledge and producing outcomes. Our aim is to develop technology and
information literate citizens. Students will understand the applications of
technology both for learning and for use in the workplace.
