School Improvement Plan Reading: To assure for the development of fluency and comprehension skills, at or above grade level or representing more than one year’s expected growth, as measured by pre/post DRA screening and scheduled fluency checks.
Writing: The writing program will place a strong emphasis upon personalization (individual voice) and intentional integration with reading program. Language immersion will provide for a key motivational emphasis in student writing.
Math: Grade Level Expectations (State Standards) will serve as a reference point for program focus in the areas of math. Investigations Curriculum will support the implementation of a program balanced in the application of primary level math skills. (WASL scores at the 3rd and 4th Grade Levels will serve as a reference point for this content area) Invitation to Parents

Point Roberts Primary School was open in September 1993, with Kindergarten through Second Grade. The building consists of 3 classrooms and a multipurpose area. As a result of the May 2001 Capital Project Bond passage the following improvements were made: Covered enclosed teaching/play area, office space, fire and safety upgrades, outside lighting, new phone system. Blaine School District met all Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives for the English Language Proficiency Performance Targets for the 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 school years. This is a No Child Left Behind requirement. |
