School Improvement Plan

Blaine High School is focused on helping all students become literate, independent learners with decision making skills necessary to reach their potential.  Specifically our goals fall in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics.

1.   Improve student’s knowledge and skills in mathematics at least 10% as measured by the 2008 10th grade WASL.

2.   90% passing the 10th grade WASL Writing in 2008.

3.   Increase the number of students passing the reading section of the WASL by 10% each year until 100% is achieved.

Building Use and condition

Blaine High School was built in 1971 with additions being made in 1975, 1992 and 2002.  The most recent additions included 4 new classroom spaces, new locker rooms, weight training, aerobics and wrestling facilities as well as improvements to security and fire prevention systems.  In addition to serving the needs of our high school students, Blaine High School is home to a wide variety of community activities, concerts, youth sports and special events.

Blaine School District met all Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives for the English Language Proficiency Performance Targets for the 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 school years. This is a No Child Left Behind requirement.
