The district shall observe the following school holidays and shall not operate on these days: Sunday, New Years' Day (January l), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January), President's Day (third Monday in February), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (first Monday in September), Veteran's Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November), the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day (December 25). Whenever any legal holiday, other than a Sunday, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be a legal holiday, and whenever any legal holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday.
In addition to the above, the following shall also be considered to be holidays: the day before Christmas, the day after Christmas and the day before New Years Day (December 24, December 26 and December 31).
