MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Acceptable personal habits and conduct
- Emotionally stable, even tempered and patient
- Good habits of job attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift, move, and/or push heavy loads
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to work with Middle School and High School students
- Classes/training related to Special Education
- Experience working with behavioral and classroom management issues
DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Willingness and ability to contribute new ideas
- Ability to relate, interact and communicate with students with disabilities
- Ability to deal with students and adults in a positive manner
- Have ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to changes in routine
- Two-year degree or equivalent
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Supervise middle school students and provide academic program with guidance from certificated teacher
- Assist the Special Education teacher as needed
- Supervise Middle/High School SPED, Whatcom Discovery, Homeport Learning Center students on AM & PM bus runs
STATE MANDATED REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful Fingerprinting
- HIV/HBV & Sexual Harassment Training
- I-9 Employment Eligibility Form

HOURS:
- 7.50 hours per day as per school calendar
(3 hours MS Resource and 4.5 bus supervision)
