BLAINE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A SPECIALIZED ASSOCIATE    FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL RESOURCE ROOM & BUS SUPERVISION AIDE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Acceptable personal habits and conduct
  • Emotionally stable, even tempered and patient
  • Good habits of job attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or push heavy loads
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to work with Middle School and High School students
  • Classes/training related to Special Education
  • Experience working with behavioral and classroom management issues

 

DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Willingness and ability to contribute new ideas
  • Ability to relate, interact and communicate with students with disabilities
  • Ability to deal with students and adults in a positive manner
  • Have ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to changes in routine
  • Two-year degree or equivalent

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Supervise middle school students and provide academic program with guidance from certificated teacher
  • Assist the Special Education teacher as needed
  • Supervise Middle/High School SPED, Whatcom Discovery, Homeport Learning Center students on AM & PM bus runs

 

STATE MANDATED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful Fingerprinting
  • HIV/HBV & Sexual Harassment Training
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility Form

 

HOURS:

  • 7.50 hours per day as per school calendar

(3 hours MS Resource and 4.5 bus supervision)

Note: Bus supervision hours are dependent on student enrollment
