Principal's Message

Happy Summer!

I want to thank everyone for an amazing year. I’m hoping that you have a restful and fun break. The school will be closed for summer break until August 18, 2008. If you need to reach us please leave a message on our voice mail (332-1300) or e-mail me at: nbakarich@blainesd.org.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Trisha Hitchcock to our kindergarten staff. She will be teaching one of our Tuesday/Thursday sections. Mrs. Ridnour will be returning to her high school position and we wish her well.

We have updated the school supplies list for you as many supplies go on sale early. Remember to read with your child everyday! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone back on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

Facilitated site-based management team meetings and decisions regarding personnel placement, legislative issues, budget and budgetary concerns, and building level problem solving.

Organized and implemented the before/after school enrichment program.

CURRICULUM RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Involved in Blaine School District K - 12 Curriculum Committee. Adopted all curricular areas. Data was gathered from teachers regarding the scope and sequence, and guidelines were established for monitoring and adopting curriculum.
Involved in developing fifth grade social studies and science curriculum.
Organized and brought to Blaine a traveling museum with hands-on activities.
