GRADING
POLICY FOR WORLD HISTORY
All
grades will be computed on a point system. All assignments will have a point
value; your grade is determined by dividing the points you earned by the total
points possible. This procedure will result in a percentage, and thus determine
your letter grade based on the table below.

It is
the studentsŐ responsibility to FIND OUT and MAKE UP any and all work missed
due to absence(s). If you are absent, see me immediately upon returning to
school and we will discuss how you can make up the work that was missed. Unless
there are extraordinary circumstances, you will be given one day to make up
work for each day absent. If the assignment is not completed within these
timelines, you will receive no points for that assignment. If you are absent
for more than three days, I urge you to have a parent or classmate find out
what you can be working on at home.
If a student is gone the day of a test, then he/she will receive a make-up test which is more difficult than the original test. Students will have only two days to make up a test regardless of days missed. If a student only missed one day, then he/she will only get one day to make up that test. For example, if S1 missed M,T, and W and the test was given on Wednesday, then S1 would have to take the make up test by Friday. If S1 does not take the test by Friday, then S1 will receive zero points on the test. Most quizzes cannot be made up regardless of studentŐs situation; however, extra credit is available in this case. Students will lose five points each time they leave my classroom for personal reasons (i.e. lavatory, book, paper, writing utensil, etc.) and 20 points for each tardy.
