Overview: Statistics is the science of reasoning from data. Its purpose is to aid people in making decisions based on the analysis of numerical information. Data and numerical arguments occur not only in science and the social sciences but in almost every field of academic inquiry. In addition most people encounter statistical reasoning in everyday life. Therefore, it is appropriate and important for all educated citizens to study the principles and methods of statistics. |

Materials: Each student is required to have a graphing calculator. Each student should also have a notebook, writing utensils, and a ruler marked in both centimeters and inches. Materials including calculator, ruler, notebook, and textbook are to be brought to class each day and available for homework.
