Course Offerings
CONSTRUCTION
- PREREQUISITE: Instructor's permission (9, 10,
PRE-APPRENTICESHIP 11, 12)
- The Pre-Apprenticeship program is designed
to provide basic knowledge and develop basic skills
used in the construction industry. This program is
intended to prepare students for entry into an
apprenticeship program in the construction trades. The
Pre-Apprenticeship program focuses on hands-on
activities supported by visual presentations found in
the course videos and workbooks.
CONSTRUCTION SKILLS
- PREREQUISITE: NONE (9, 10, 11, 12)
- This is an introductory course in basic
building construction and remodeling, engaging the
students in building and remodeling techniques with
the use of portable power and hand tools. Students
will learn the basic principles of foundation, wall
framing, and interior and exterior finish.
CONSTRUCTION SKILLS - ADVANCED
- PREREQUISITE: Construction Skills (9, 10, 11, 12)
- Students are involved in an advanced level of
building and remodeling, with an emphasis on high
quality craftsmanship in the skilled areas of
remodeling, roof framing, stair building and rough-in
electrical and plumbing.
