Course Offerings
Band - Concert
- Prerequisite: Instructor's permission (9,10, and
upperclassmen with limited experience)
- This is a performance oriented class aimed
at underclassmen and students with limited experience.
The band performs at concerts and athletic events
throughout the year. We also march at football games
and parades. Attendance and promptness are required
for all performances. Fundamentals of musicianship,
citizenship, and responsibility will be strongly
emphasized. Cross Credit: Fine Arts or Vocational
Band - Jazz
- Prerequisite: Instructor's permission (10,11,12)
- This is a performance oriented class. Jazz band
performs at concerts, festivals, shows, and dances
throughout the year. Attendance and promptness are
required. Advancement of musical skills, techniques
for improvisation, performing various styles of music
(jazz, swing, funk, rock, etc.), and a responsible,
professional attitude will be emphasized.
