I want to be one of the first to welcome you all (students, staff and families) back to school. We have been busy around here, planning for the year, getting our building into tip-top shape and welcoming new families to our school.
I am new to the Blaine school system. I moved here from the Issaquah School District where I was a principal for nine years. However, I have been in education for 32 years. I grew up in Bellingham and am excited to return to my "roots."
If you are new to the community or a seasoned veteran let me remind us all of a few hallmarks that make Blaine elementary such a wonderful place.
- A high level of parent and community involvement: Students learn more successfully through a family support system. Everyone works together to facilitate positive relationships between parents, community and staff.
- High standards and expectations: We work hard to assist all students in meeting high academic standards.
- Supportive learning environment: At Blaine elementary, we focus on our students to provide a conducive learning environment for everyone. We are about all students and respect their differences.
With our community and parent involvement, the dedication and hard work of our staff and our enthusiastic and energetic students, we are ready to hit the ground running!
P.S. Kids Here is a special message just for you. Of all the things I look forward to most about starting off a new school year, the most important is seeing your bright faces shine through the doors of our school. I can't wait to greet you as you enter into what is sure to be one of the best school years of your life! See you soon!
